The Goode Volunteer Rescue Squad was founded in 1993. The squad is made up of a special group of dedicated people who spend much of their spare time serving the emergency medical needs of the community. To further serve our community, GVRS participates in numerous events throughout the year. Our squad has provided a fully staffed unit for events such as Jefferson Forest High School athletic events, the Forest Point to Point race, the Forest Jump Park fund raiser, Horse Shows, the New London Air Show and many more. We also have a sub-station on 460. This facility that we share with the Forest Volunteer Fire Department will enable us to service our community even better. We have also recently added another unit to our fleet of response vehicles. Medic 6-3 is proving to be a valuable asset in our responses. All of the successes of our squad have been due to not only the hard work of our volunteers, but those in and around the community that continue to support us financially. Without the hard work and monetary support of the citizens and our crew, we would not have accomplished the goals we have reached so far. Among these, and perhaps the most impressive, was not turning over a single call in our first due territory in 10 years. This is only one of the reasons GVRS was recently recognized on the state level as an outstanding volunteer rescue squad. As we continue to grow, we ask for your continued support. We truly could not do it without you. We invite you now to view our site and meet our members and see some interesting pictures. Thanks again for all you do!
